We took over an empty shop in Northampton’s shopping centre where we ran 2 sessions:
👩🏻💻 How To Write Great First CV
🔗 LinkedIn For Students
The idea was that the attendees could not just get the information they needed, but they could also get some coaching, whilst networking with other young people, and leave with the job done….. their CV completed, and their LinkedIn profile all sorted ✅.
We were thrilled to welcome Northampton South MP Mike Reader who called by and spent some time chatting with the students, and shared his advice from recruiting staff into the construction industry.
The feedback from the event was great,
"I found this session extremely useful and practical. The addition of the local MP was excellent." Rachael
"We were given a very clear rundown on how to use LinkedIn, and then straight after got an account up and running 😁 It was a really great session." John
Huge thanks to Yanis Balan, one of the graduates from Project 13, our Degree Apprenticeship mentoring programme supported by Aspire Higher - Yanis volunteered all day at the event to ‘give back’ and was able to share his experience of being on a degree apprenticeship.
Thanks also to the team at Simply Techspace for loaning us some laptops for the day, which meant that everyone could get involved in the session.
The event has been captured by talented local young videographer Andy Kwakye , so we’re looking forward to sharing his work in the next week or so.
And finally a massive thanks to Greg Norman at the Grosvenor Centre for allowing us to use the space.
